Automotive radar base manufacturers adopt puncture ultrasonic welding to assemble ABS radar plastic shells. Conventional flat ultrasonic welding horns cannot match the concentrated multi-point welding area of radar bases. Standard welding heads have no pointed puncture teeth, leading to shallow fusion, unstable tensile strength, high defective rate during mass production of auto radar accessories. Long-time assembly line production also needs consistent welding effect without frequent parameter adjustment.
- The radar base requires multiple fixed-point puncture welding; ordinary flat horns cannot realize targeted piercing.
- The position, quantity and height of puncture tips must completely align with the reserved welding dots on radar products.

According to customer’s automotive radar base 2D drawings, ABS material parameters and multi-point puncture welding demands, we customized this multi-tip puncture ultrasonic welding horn.
We precisely designed the distribution, height and angle of all conical puncture teeth one by one to match all welding positions of the radar base. The horn is made of high-hardness aviation aluminum via full CNC precision machining. We equipped matched positioning fixture and digital auto-tracking ultrasonic welder, completed repeated puncture welding trials to confirm proper pressure, amplitude and welding time.
